MOVEMBER

Studies show that many men don’t have regular health checks for reasons such as they’re embarrassed, scared or don't see the importance. Established taboos and barriers relating to men’s health are gradually being broken down, although we still have a long way to go, so it is important to bring the importance of their health checks.

The Movember Foundation supports men’s health programs that combat both prostate and testicular cancer along with mental health challenges; these programs focus on living with and beyond cancer and mental illness. Since its small beginnings in Melbourne, Australia, Movember has grown to become a truly global movement, in 2012 over 1.1 million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas raised AUD $139.3 million.

Despite trailing the women’s health movement, things are beginning to change, although much more progress needs to be made to close the gap between the state of men and women’s health.
